چکیده
Abstract At the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), traditional track reconstruction techniques that are critical for physics analysis will need to be upgraded scale with density. Quantum annealing has shown promise in its ability solve combinatorial optimization problems amidst an ongoing effort establish evidence of a quantum speedup. As step towards exploiting such potential speedup, we investigate approach by adapting existing geometric Denby-Peterson (Hopfield) network method framework HL-LHC conditions. We develop additional embed problem onto and near-term hardware. Results using simulated D-Wave 2X system on TrackML open dataset presented, demonstrating successful application algorithm challenge. find can effectively reconstruct tracks, suggesting possible applications fast hardware-specific implementations at while leaving possibility speedup tracking.

Object Tracking based on Quantum Particle Swarm Optimization
In Computer Vision domain, moving Object Tracking considered as one of the toughest problem. As there so many factors associated like illumination of light, noise, occlusion, sudden start and stop of moving object, shading which makes tracking even harder problem not only for dynamic background but also for static background. In this paper we present a new object tracking algorithm based on Dom...
متن کاملParticle Swarm Optimization with Simulated Annealing for TSP
-Aiming at the shortcoming of basic PSO algorithm, that is, easily trapping into local minimum, we propose an advanced PSO algorithm with SA and apply this new algorithm for solving TSP problem. The core of algorithm is based on the PSO algorithm. SA method is used to slow down the degeneration of the PSO swarm and increase the swarm’s diversity. The comparative experiments were made between PS...
متن کاملQuantum theory of charged-particle beam optics
Charged-particle beam optics, or the theory of transport of charged-particle beams through electromagnetic systems, is traditionally dealt with using classical mechanics. Though the classical treatment has been very successful, in designing and working of numerous charged-particle optical devices, it is natural to look for a deeper understanding based on the quantum theory, since any system is ...
متن کاملStudy of Optimization Problems by Quantum Annealing
We introduce quantum fluctuations into the simulated annealing process of optimization problems, aiming at faster convergence to the optimal state. Quantum fluctuations cause transitions between states and thus play the same role as thermal fluctuations in the conventional approach. The idea is tested by the two models, the transverse Ising model and the traveling salesman problem. Adding the t...
متن کاملGlobal Optimization: Quantum Thermal Annealing with Path Integral Monte Carlo
We investigate a new method (QTA-PIMC) for global optimization on complex potential energy surfaces which combines the path integral Monte Carlo method with quantum and thermal annealing. This method is applied to the BLN protein model (Honeycutt, J. D.; Thirumalai, D. Biopolymers 1992, 32, 695). We show that this new approach outperforms simulated (thermal) annealing (SA) and that in fact SA i...
